To celebrate the traditional way... TREKMAS LOLZ!

( More Trekmas LOLz beneath the cut! )
And now, because it's also Catmas, here are some classic LOLcats. These are the ones I made last year, one of which ended up on the front page of icanhazcheezburger as the Christmas morning LOL:

My affair with Jim...

So... I think my wife has started to catch on.
It started out innocently enough. After dinner, I'd get dressed up (dressed down?) and tell my wife I was going out. Wouldn't be long. Just going to see Jim. It's become a regular thing. Kinda seriously, actually. Found myself coming home later and later.
I went to see Jim the other day, and he wasn't available at the usual time. The holidays tend to mess with Jim's schedule. I left really disappointed, and distinctly unsatisfied.
Of course, I usually come back sweaty after seeing Jim. Hair is usually a mess. Sometimes I'm sore. Oh, the days I came back sore were SOOOO good. Hell, sometimes, there would be bruises. I swear, it was my decision, not Jim's. Jim is always ready for whatever I want to do. Talk about stamina. Oh yeah baby.
I think my wife has noticed that I don't tend to have much energy after going to see Jim. I suppose I get carried away sometimes. I can't help it though - Jim just gets me all hot and bothered, and then leaves me feeling totally drained but oh-so-good. Harder... faster... longer. You should SEE some of the toys and equipment Jim has. Goddammit.
But I think what finally did it was me leaving my wedding ring behind. Oops. I swear, I just didn't want to damage it or lose it. Still... I forgot to put it back on. This is horrible.
Ohgym Jim, I wish I knew how to quit you.
No I don't.

ANON CRUSH MEME
See... someone once told me that there are people who had fandom crushes on me. Or hell, just crushes in general. I didn't believe it. Then someone else said so. I thought that was nuts. I couldn't fathom why. So now... I've gotta know. C'mon, folks - make me feel less silly about doing this.

The amazing
lizardspots has drawn some gorgeous artwork for my fic, "And All the King's Men." Please, take a minute to swing over to her journal and look at this art (which illustrates this scene so perfectly i have no words for it) and give her some love.
The art is entitled "Last Stand." Click the thumbnail to see her post with the whole picture:

Title: "Unstoppable Force"
Author:
mijan
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Jim Kirk, Leonard McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Spock
Word Count: 5,494
Disclaimer: They're not mine, but I like to imagine that if they were, the results would be *fabulous*.
Notes: Please note that the Klingon ship Gr'oth and the character Korax are found in the TOS episode, "The Trouble with Tribbles." It is Korax who (in that universe a First Officer, not a Captain) insinuated that the Enterprise was a garbage scow, thereby igniting a spectacular brawl.
Thank you to
classics_geek for the beta job!
Summary: "It is my intent that our ship may become our home away from home, and our crew a family. I can only hope that I may prove myself worthy of both." With those words, Jim Kirk took command of the Enterprise. A year later, he finds himself facing a chance to live up to those words.

It was a small but enthusiastic bunch that came together yesterday.
mizuno_caitlin and I met up with
ruisseau at tje Javanaut coffee house on 39th street.
Later,
mizuno_caitlin and I joined
coldfireserge at the Crown Center ice skating rink, where a large gaggle of people from NakaKon planning (that's a local anime convention) had invaded the ice skating rink. One of the newest members of the group,
eddieblackmaru , was actually there, having no prior knowledge that we were showing up. So she hung out with us, and that was awesome.
After ice skating, we stopped by my friend Paul's workplace to say hi - he's one of us, but isn't online, but you bb's will meet him at upcoming meetups, I do hope. He's awesome.
mizuno_caitlin ,
coldfireserge , and I converged back at my house, where we were later joined by Paul, and we had Chinese food, lots of tea, and talked meta, canon, actors, and many other forms of geekery until something like 2:00 AM. The laptops came out. Silliness was shared. For not being a "real" meetup, we had a good time.
